Naturalia es una organización civil, fundada en 1990 que promueve la conservación de los ecosistemas y especies silvestres en México.
Cuentas con diversos programas y Proyectos de conservación tales como:
Rescate del lobo mexicano
Conservación del jaguar del norte en Sonora
Conservación de los pastizales y especies asociadas a la cuenca del Río San Pedro, Sonora
Reforestación y Desarrollo Sustentable de las áreas naturales protegida alrededor del Valle de México y municipios conurbados
Identificación de Áreas Prioritarias para la Conservación en el Norte de la Sierra Madre Occidental
Conservación de las praderas de Janos, Chihuahua
Observación y monitoreo de Áreas Naturales Protegidas de la República Mexicana
Y además también cuentan con una revista llamada "Especies", realizan programas de educación para la conservación y Campañas de información para combatir el comercio ilegal de flora y fauna silvestres.
Lo que más me sorprendió de Naturalia son sus reservas naturales, ellos ya poseen territorios extensos para la reintroducción de algunas especies y conservación de otras, éstas son sus reservas:
RESERVA LOS FRESNOS, SONORA
Protege los pastizales y arroyos silvestres del noroeste de México
Se localiza al norte del estado de Sonora, en el lado mexicano de la cuenca del río San Pedro, y tiene una extensión de 4,000 hectáreas.
Algunas de las especies protegidas de esta reserva son: 400 especies de aves migratorias, el águila calva, el águila real, 68 especies de anfibios, venado cola blanca, castores, perritos de las praderas, etc.
LOS PAVOS / ZETÁSORA (Reserva del Jaguar del Norte)
Se encuentra al este del estado de Sonora, fue la primera reserva establecida en el país con el objetivo principal de conservar al jaguar. Cuenta con 18,000 hectáreas.
Las especies que habitan en ella son: 10 especies de anfibios (cinco nativas), 152 de aves, y más de 35 mamíferos.
Como es obvio Naturalia recibe donativos, personal voluntario, tiene venta de artículos para mantener sus proyectos, y también te puedes suscribir a su revista.
Un aplauso a la gente de Naturalia que esa realizando estos proyectos tan importantes y de gran prioridad.
